Farm Crew Positions 

Job Description: We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic, hard working individuals to help with all aspects of the veggie production operation on our farm. This would include weeding, picking, washing produce, planting, and seeding, etc. The job goes from May until mid-November. We are open to hiring on a part-time and full-time basis. Compensation starting between $10-$12 per hour, based on experience.

Requirements:

  • ability to work long days in all weather condition: extreme heat to extreme cold
  • ability to lift 50 lbs above your waist
  • ability to stand or squat or kneel comfortably for hours
  • good attitude
  • willingness to work as apart of a team
  • ability to work quickly and efficiently
  • ability to take directions and know when to ask questions
  • ability to uphold high quality standards
  • experience on a commercial-scale vegetable farm (preferred)

Assistant Farm Manager

Job Description: We are looking for a self-motivated, hard-working, flexible individual to join us for the 2019 season as our Assistant Farm Manager. This position would involve general farm labor and managing a small crew – primarily for picking and field work. Farm manager is also expected to help oversee crop production and care alongside the farmers. We are committed to training and working with the right person to get them acquainted with our systems. Work starts mid-April and goes through November, 30-50 hours per week depending on the time of season. There is also the potential for part-time work in through the winter. Starting wage between $12 and $14, based on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • manage and oversee small crew
  • maintain high quality standards while harvesting, washing and packing produce for wholesale markets
  • basic record keeping in compliance with our organic and food safety certifications
  • crop scouting for pests, disease, fertility needs, weeding priorities, irrigation priorities
  • general farm labor
  • basic tractor work

Qualifications:

  • minimum 2 years experience on a commercial vegetable farm
  • positive, upbeat attitude, flexibility, willingness to learn
  • organized
  • attention to detail, able to maintain high quality standards
  • background/experience in organic vegetable production
  • ability to work long days in all weather condition: extreme heat to extreme cold
  • ability to lift 50 lbs above your waist
  • ability to stand or squat or kneel comfortably for hours
  • good attitude
  • ability to operate a tractor (preferred)
  • management experience (preferred)
